Vito V. Scaccia
Vito
V. Scaccia, 73, of California, Pa., died peacefully at home with his
family at his side early Wednesday morning, Aug. 6, 2003.
He was born
Dec. 26, 1929, in California, the son of the late Joseph and Mary
Albenze Scaccia.
He was a life member of the California Volunteer Fire
Department, held a position on the California Area School Board for 26
years and was president of the California Zoning
Hearing Board for the
last 12 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Scaccia was preceded in
death by his first wife, Ethel Mae Scaccia, on March 5, 1995; and one
step son, Roy Carlile.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of six
years, Pat Scaccia; five children, Mark and Annette Scaccia of
Greensburg, Scott and JoAnne Scaccia of Atlanta, Ga.,
Sandi and John
Petro of West Brownsville, Ronald and Kathy Scaccia of Bridgeville, and
James and Susan Scaccia of California, Pa.; four sisters, Rose Densmore
of
Daisytown, Mildred Gaisbar of Wexford, Virginia Bair of Centerville
and Frances Campbell of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren, Alexandria
Petro, Gregory Scaccia, Nate
Scaccia and Courtney and Shelby Scaccia;
step children, Darlene Calvert, Carol Shrader, Robert Carlile Jr. and
Raymond Carlile, all of Washington, Pa.; and numerous step
grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in
the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor,
323 Fourth St., California, on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003 from 2 to 4
and 7
to 9 p.m. and until 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, when a blessing service
will be held followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St.
Thomas Aquinas Church with
the Rev. Mark Skertich as celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. In lieu
of flowers, the family requests contributions to the California Area
Historical Society, 429 Wood St., California, Pa. 15419.
